Author Guideline

When you upload your initial manuscript, please upload (a) a separate, unblinded title page with an Author Note based on the APA Manual 7th edition, (b) the main manuscript, which includes the blinded title page, an abstract with keywords at the bottom, and the entire document including tables and figures, and (c) the Author Bio.

Please ensure that your manuscript complies with the document "Formatting Requirements and Common Formatting Errors." If your manuscript does not meet these requirements, it will be returned to you. In addition, your manuscript must meet the following guidelines:

  1. Requirements for authors should ensure that your manuscript follows the word count requirements 3,000-6,000 words (Journal Articles)
  2. The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; or an explanation has been provided in the Cover Letter. Authors should indicate in the Author's Note on a separate title page if any part of the manuscript has been published elsewhere.
  3. The Manuscript Contains No Identifying Information, Even On The Blinded Title Page. Please blind any work with limited circulation (e.g., in press papers, manuscripts in the process of submission) that would point to the author, both in the body of the manuscript and the reference list. More information on blocking will be explained next.
  4. The text conforms to APA style (currently the 7th edition). Please refer to the guidelines outlined under "Manuscript Style, Length, and Format" on this webpage and in the journal's terms document.
  5. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word, which will be converted into a pdf file. Please do not upload PDF files.
  6. An abstract of no more than 200 words is included (either separately or on the second page of the main document after the blinded title page. Also include three to five keywords, which are terms that researchers will use to find your article in indexes and databases.
